As a Senior Production Designer, I've worked on development of Engrain's data visualization products, from developing comprehensive design standards to the final product delivery, ensuring that our clients' data is represented correctly, and our clients’ brands shine consistently across diverse products.

Design Systems & Best Practices for Map-Based Data Visualization

Textures & Colors

Defining color palettes and textures is essential to creating designs that are visually clear, aesthetically appealing, and accessible to all users.

By carefully selecting and applying colors, I ensured that designs are not only easily readable but also meet ADA compliance standards, promoting inclusivity and usability for diverse audiences.

3D Graphics

Creating 3D graphics brings map elements to life, offering a detailed and realistic representation of property amenities.

Part of my job was creating and sourcing new 3D graphics, which help to highlight community key features and enhance accuracy and visual appeal, making the property more engaging and enticing to potential renters.

Design Guidelines & Standards

Clear and concise design documentation is a cornerstone of production design, ensuring consistency and alignment across the design team.

By creating thorough guidelines, I helped streamline workflows, maintain brand integrity, and provide a reliable reference for implementing design elements effectively.

Iconography & Vector Art

Icons on a map provide a more customized and intuitive experience, helping users quickly understand and navigate key information.

I designed icon sets and vector graphics, ensuring each element not only aligns with the client's brand but also visualizes their data in a clear and engaging way.

New Product Development

I took the lead in creating pilot maps to present to the client for any new product requests that had no established processes or design standards, such as mall or parking maps.

This involved defining design standards, crafting a clear workflow, and setting the foundation for efficient production.

Quality Assurance & Process Optimization

Ensuring the highest quality of work starts with thorough design quality assurance and constructive feedback.

By reviewing final products and collaborating with in-house production team and overseas vendors, I helped identify and resolve error patterns, refine documentation for clarity, and streamline processes for greater efficiency.
